Contract description
Role: This is a paid, part-time administrator contract for Lawyers for Climate Action NZ Inc.

Location: The majority of the LCANZI Board are based in Auckland, so applicants would ideally be based in Auckland. However, given that we mainly work digitally, this is a preference rather than a requirement.
Hours and pay: This is a contract for 12 hours per week (generally flexible hours but ideally spread across the week) for a 6-month period with the potential for the contract to be renewed at the end of this period. Pay is $30 per hour. This is a contractor position where you will be required by law to declare your own income and pay your own taxes, and provide your own laptop/phone.
Responsibilities:
Reviewing incoming emails, respond to enquiries/forward to other committee members as required (est. 1 hour a day, 5 hours a week);
Maintain membership database, check subs paid etc (reporting to Secretary) (est. 0.5 hour a week);
Maintain accounts and manage payments/receipts (reporting to Treasurer) (est. 0.5 hour a week);
Arrange monthly committee meetings, prepare agenda, attend and take minutes (reporting to President/Secretary) (est. 1.5 hours a week);
Assist with arranging sub-committee and working group meetings, ensure follow-up on agreed actions (est. 0.5 hours a week);
Assist with preparation and distribution of members’ newsletters, press releases and emails to members, maintain and update website and coordinate social media posts (reporting to website and social media reps) (est. 2 hours a week);
Assist with events planning and organisation as required (est. 1 hour a week);
Assist with sponsorship and fundraising (est. 1 hour a week).
Qualifications/skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Zoom, Excel, willingness to learn to use SquareSpace (website platform), an understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, good written communication and management skills.
